Dylan suomeksi – Dylan in Finnish
This might be one of the most obscure releases among the numerous recordings of Bob Dylan songs. An album filled with songs written by Dylan – with lyrics translated into Finnish!
Dylan suomeksi (Dylan in Finnish) was originally released on CD to celebrate Bob Dylan’s 75th birthday in 2006. Back then the release schedule was too tight in order to have the album released on vinyl as well. We will now have this rectified in August 2021 when the LP edition will be made available by Bluelight Records in co-operation with Ramasound, the latter having released the original CD.
On Dylan suomeksi, several Finnish top artists pay homage to the greatest songwriter of our time. Some of them have been in the business almost as long as Dylan himself, while others have surfaced during the punk and even rap music era, some having their roots deep in the Americana. The unifying force on the album is the house band, Wentus Blues Band, one of the hardest working European blues bands, celebrating their 35th anniversary this year.
